Alerts for power outages announced by DEER

DEER publishes unplanned outages and planned work on its website. Firefly reads the DEER list and writes to you when an outage concerns your address.

For each watched address, an unplanned outage brings 2 messages on each channel: the notice and the message that DEER no longer lists it. For planned work you get the notice and a reminder on the evening before, plus one message each time DEER changes the period or removes the work from the list.

The service covers the 18 counties served by DEER, in Muntenia Nord, Transilvania Sud and Transilvania Nord.

Watched address

When you subscribe, you give a single address. After confirming, you can add others from “My addresses”, up to 5 addresses in total.

County

The list has only the 18 counties served by DEER. Other regions, for example București, Banat, Oltenia, Moldova and Dobrogea, have other distributors, and their outages are not in the DEER list.

Choose the county first.

Locality

When the commune or town has a single locality, it is already chosen.

What do you want to watch?

A street Whole locality

You get a message for every outage DEER announces in the chosen locality, on any street. The message says that DEER does not name your street; check in the DEER text whether it concerns you. Messages for the whole locality do not have the “Power is back” button.

Street

Type the first letters, then choose the street from the suggestions or keep the text you typed. The house number is not needed: alerts match on the street. If DEER limits the outage to certain numbers, you find them in the DEER text in the message.

DEER writes streets in its own way. You get a message also when the name DEER wrote only resembles your street’s name, and when DEER names only the locality. The notice says how certain the match is.

Label (optional)

For example “Home” or “Mum”. The label appears in the subject of each message and tells your addresses apart. Without a label, the street or “whole locality” appears in its place.

Where you get the alerts

Email address

Alerts come by email.
